Austin, first full day!
Grandson wants to go to the Ice Cream Museum. Grandmother thinks he means a museum. Absolutely, she answers!
Tickets and an ice cream sundae, an hour's worth of "one way only" time in the 6 rooms of the building, and all the ice cream you ask for: $104
The adventure begins with a pep talk and the assumption of 'ice cream names"
Grandson became "Mint" and Grammy became "Chocolate Chip!"
Room 1: Free Ice Cream. Pink Vanilla, but it was eaten in Room 2 with yellow and pink bananas.
Room 4: Free Ice Cream: Arrived in this room via a 'disco' hallway. Room 3 had some factoids about ice cream on the wall. Museum?
Room 5: A big ole ball pool, but the 'balls' are shaped like giant sprinkles -- you know, the things we put on ice cream or cupcakes for children.
Room 6: More Free Ice Cream: And a 'soda fountain" where you could buy, for example, a milk shake for $18.00 or a T shirt for $45.00 Done in Room 6? Out the door you go!
On the surface, there's so many things, right? Starving Children in Appalachia that could use the money... filling children full of sugar to make sure they have a calm afternoon.... or just why on earth should I pay so much money for a child to eat all the ice cream he can eat .... who IS getting rich off of this... and what genius thought this place up? But in the end, the boy's smile, the living-in-the-moment-good time, and enjoyment win. We had a great time!
