Just things in Vienna that caught our eyes

The Swing Kitchen -- a  little vegan cafe chain!   Had soy 'wiener schnitzel' (Vienna Cutlet)

Playing board games with Mark -- guess who is losing. And lost.  Two different games....

More seriously:
A monument to the victims of the Black Plague

Ankeruhr Clock Art Nouveau mechanical clock built in 1914

12 historical figures rotate slowly around the front. Just after 12:15pm

Memorials to Viennese holocaust victims:
"As Jews in the Holocaust, Bewildered, Expelled, Deported and Murdered."

The Vienna Holocaust Memorial, built over the spot where the Torah was kept in a medieval synagogue that has been discovered and is now an in-situ archeology site.

Back. to lighter notes:  Advertising appliances in the U-Bahn (Subway System)

Amusement Park Ferris Wheel.  One snapshot from the street where it lives in Prader Amusement Park along the Danube and a  view at night from Mark's rooftop. This thing was built before WWII, and has had the number of gondolas reduced from 40+ to 15 for safety reasons.   No way we are riding this thing!  But its pretty!

An accordion playing unicorn, with some supervision from powerful, rich, dead folks (I think musicians):

A Chimney Sweep

A couple of modern paintings

Retirement Lesson:  It is good to be close to past events that have been experienced first hand here,  as you experience in guided tours, but also very good to know current culture that it has influenced, seen through the eyes of a 'local'.
