We date the official start of our nomadic life to this moment in front of Matt's (son #2) house in March of 2023. We didn't know how the journey would unfold, and we still don't, but its been a journey of learning, adventure, discovery, showing up, and a deep well of gratitude.
REFLECTIONS
- Connections with Family and Friends remain the most important aspect of our lives. This nomadic life give us the best way to fulfill on our motto of "We Show Up"
- Flexibility enhances experiences. We seldom make fixed plans that stay fixed. The journey is as worthy as the destination.
- Experiences are WAY more important than things.
- Minimalist living is a freeing way to live.
- We are beginning to understand why we like living on the road. "Seeing the sights" was our original goal, now its curiosity, experiencing and learning about the varied cultures. There is SO much to see and learn.
- We wonder what year 3 will bring.
START of YEAR 3
At the undeveloped Padre Island National Seashore (South of Port Aransas, TX):
Watching the sun rise everyday reminds us that the earth will keep turning and the tides will keep coming, regardless of the events showing the destruction of our government that has long understood the value of caring for its people and now does not.

| I just signed up for a photography course; maybe I'll snap a better shot next time. Here's the best shot while watching the lunar eclipse turn the moon red at 1:40 am local time. |
Our Nomadic Life Rules for year 3:
- Drive no more than 4 hours a day, and preferably less. Only longer when it has to be.
- Drive on the back roads (stay off Interstates as much as possible)
- Visit Planet Fitness every other day! Good exercise and good showers!
- Seek out special restaurants, do food tours and otherwise stick to a Whole Food Plant Based Diet from our own tiny kitchen.
- Shop only at Food Coops or Farmer's Markets
- A real game changer for us: Use ChatGPT to plan itineraries instead of spending hours looking at maps and planning routes.

LEARNING ON THE ROAD
I have now completed courses in Plant Based Nutrition and in Food & Sustainability through the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutritional Studies (Part of eCornell). Got questions? I can answer them!
